Marketing and Brand Manager
For hospitality employees, tips are a big part of their income. But understanding exactly how those tips are calculated, where they went, and what they actually earned hasn’t always been easy.
That’s where TipHaus comes in.
TipHaus helps restaurants and hospitality teams automate tip calculations, tip pooling, tip sharing, and payouts while giving employees more visibility into their earnings. The new native TipHaus Employee App brings that transparency directly to employees’ phones, with a faster, more modern experience built for iOS and Android.
The TipHaus Employee App is now available on the Apple App Store and Google Play.

The TipHaus Employee App is the employee side of the TipHaus experience.
While managers use TipHaus to set up tip distribution rules, review tip information, and manage their team, employees use the app to see their own tips, payouts, shifts, hours, and earnings information in one place.
At its core, the app is about transparency.
Employees can see how their tips are being calculated and understand how tip sharing and pooling affect their take-home amount. That gives them a clear point of reference when they have questions about their earnings.
The app is also designed to help employees catch potential issues earlier. For example, if an employee realizes they clocked into the wrong job code or forgot to clock out, they can spot the issue while reviewing their shift information rather than discovering it on payroll day.
And because the new app is native, TipHaus can continue rolling out updates and new features more easily over time.
The Employee App isn't just another app for your staff to download. It can also make tip management easier for managers and operators.
One of TipHaus's core goals is making tip distribution more transparent.
Instead of employees having to ask a manager every time they have a question about their tips, they can open the app and review their own information. They can see their take-home amount, tip share, tip pool activity, hours worked, and more.
That gives employees more context into how their earnings were calculated without exposing other employees' individual earnings.
The more visibility employees have into their own information, the sooner potential errors can surface.
An employee might notice that they were clocked into the wrong job code, missed a clock-out, or something else doesn't look right. Instead of finding the issue when payroll is being finalized, they can flag it to a manager earlier.
That means fewer last-minute questions and fewer issues for managers to untangle on payroll day.
The app doesn't just show a final number.
Employees can see information such as:
That hourly view can be especially useful for employees who want to understand what they're actually making when tips are factored into their earnings.
The new app also lets employees customize the information they see on their homepage.
Employees can edit their widgets, change the order of information, and remove sections they don't need, making it easier to get to the information that matters most to them.
Employees can also access TipHaus resources directly through their profile, including support and information about their restaurant's tip distribution policy.
That means employees can review how tip pools and tip sharing work and get additional help without every question having to start with a manager.

The Employee App is built around one simple idea:
You should be able to understand what you're earning.
Instead of waiting until payday or asking a manager to explain your tips, you can open the app and see your own information whenever you need it.
Your take-home amount is front and center in the app, along with a breakdown of the information that goes into it.
You can review your current pay period, choose different date ranges, and drill down into your earnings for a specific day or shift.
Tip pooling and tip sharing can get complicated, especially when you're working different roles or alongside different teammates.
The Employee App gives you visibility into the tips you've earned, tips you've shared, tips you've received, and your pool activity so you can better understand how your final take-home amount was calculated.
If something doesn't look right, you can go into your shift information and see the details behind your earnings.
You can review individual shifts and identify things like incorrect clock-in or clock-out information or an incorrect job code.
The app gives you more than a total tip number.
You can see your average take-home per day and your average take-home per hour, giving you a clearer picture of what you're earning during your shifts.
Please note: the figures shown in the app are an approximation of your final paycheck. Tip totals may change due to refunds, clock-in and clock-out adjustments, or rule changes processed before the end of your pay period.
Your tip and payout information stays accessible in the app, so you can look back at previous pay periods and daily earnings whenever you need to.
Depending on the features your employer has enabled, you may also have access to tools like peer-to-peer payments and Earned Tip Access®.
Peer-to-peer payments can allow employees to send tips to another teammate directly through the app, such as when someone picks up a shift for them.
Earned Tip Access® can allow eligible employees at participating businesses to receive eligible tips electronically rather than waiting for their regular paycheck. Availability depends on your employer's setup.
Employees: If you're new to the app and want to see how everything works, we've created a walkthrough specifically for you. We'll show you how to navigate the different tabs, find your tip information, review your earnings, and get the most out of the app.

Don't just take our word for it.
Gustavo, a bartender at Lotus of Siam, shares how TipHaus has changed the way he tracks and understands his earnings.
Before TipHaus, managing tips meant relying on spreadsheets and questioning whether payouts were accurate. Now, Gustavo has more visibility into his tips, making it easier to budget, plan, and understand his income.
In his testimonial, Gustavo shares how TipHaus helps hospitality employees:

Hospitality moves quickly. Employees work different shifts, take on different roles, share tips, and often work across different pay periods.
Your tip information shouldn't be difficult to follow.
The TipHaus Employee App puts your earnings information in one place and gives you the visibility to understand how your tips are calculated and where your money is going.
And for managers, that transparency can mean fewer repetitive questions, earlier visibility into potential issues, and a team that has better access to its own information.
Transparency works better when everyone has access to it.
If your restaurant or hospitality business already uses TipHaus, your employees can log into the new native app using their existing TipHaus credentials. There is no need to create a new account or wait for a new invitation.
The new app is available on both iOS and Android.
